On 28 July 2014, LCCS hosted a movie event “Touched by Grace” sponsored by one of our board members and donors – Mr. Michael Teo, at Great World City, Golden Village Cinema for all our friends and supporters.
“Touched by Grace” tells a story of a teenager with special needs being bullied by her school mates. The film is produced and directed by Mr Donald Leow, an award winning filmmaker. This movie is very apt for LCCS as one of the core works of LCCS is the students work service. Through the students work service we provide casework and counselling, group and classroom interventions to meet the needs of the students. One of the issues we work with in schools is bullying.
At the event, our colleague, Ms Deborah Wan shared a story about a student who was bullied in school due to her physical features. When the student was able to embrace her own physical features and personal worth and receive support from her family and teachers, the student was able to assert her ground, forgive her peers and win friends over.
LCCS would like to thank all our friends and supporters who were part of the event, without whom, it would not have happened. Donations given during the event would go a long way in supporting our work in supporting our youths in their journey towards having self-worth and high self-efficacy. We hope to see all again in our future events!
